Unleash languages: Language and social inequality

This documentary presents experiences of social inequality reproduced and reinforced through language, alongside interviews with researchers from a participatory action research project, who provide a theoretical framework for analysing the testimonies featured.

The video also includes the proposals and initiatives developed by students to help transform the current sociolinguistic order.

All these activities were carried out within the framework of the coordinated R&D project EquiLing: Towards a New Linguistic Citizenship — Action Research for the Recognition of Speakers in the Educational Context of the Madrid Region, at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), during the Week of Languages and Linguistic Activism.

The project was funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and the State Research Agency (Project ref. PID2019-105676RB-C41 / AEI / 10.13039/501100011033).
