Lara Alonso and Luisa Martín, both members of MIRCo, have just published the article Transformative action for sociolinguistic equity: mobilizing students’ agency at university in the prestigious journal Language Policy. In that article, they seek to use the concept of agency in regards to social change. More concretely, the authors use participative methodologies to raise awareness among the students of the Philosophy and Languages Faculty in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid on the role languages play in the reproduction of social inequalities.
