During its summer school, the International University of Andalucía (UNIA) will organize workshops on teaching Spanish to immigrant persons and refugees. This course, with 25 hours of teaching activities, will take place between August 25th and 28th 2025, in the UNIA Campus in Baeza (Jaén).
This course, oriented towards university graduates, language teaching professionals and third sector personnel, is dedicated to giving tools to language teaching professionals (in alphabetization, teaching skills for adults, etc.), as well as giving a common analytic and performance framework in situations ranging from cultural shock to integration problems. This course’s methodology, mainly practical and in small working groups, allows for the acquisition and learning of such knowledge and skills, being a great opportunity to receive a specialized training in the field.
Organized by Guadalupe Ruiz (Columbia University) and Aurelio Ríos (Granada University), we will have Luisa M. Rojo, the director of MIRCo, as a professor.
The enrollment deadline is August 20th, offering a total of 30 spots. For more information, you can access the course’s webpage here. Besides, UNIA offers financial aid for enrollment and travel fees, which you can consult here.
