Public event: ¿Qué puede una lengua? Conversación entre Yásnaya Elena A. Gil y Amanda de la Garza

The MIRCo Center invites you all to attend the public event ¿Qué puede una lengua? Conversación entre Yásnaya Elena G. Gil y Amanda de la Garza, which will take place the next October 29th at 7PM both online and in person, in the Nouvel Building in the Reina Sofía Museum.

This event will gather Yásnaya Elena A. Gil, a Mixe thinker, translator and writer, and Amanda de la Garza, art subdirector at Reina Sofía Museum. They will be discussing on the intersection between the building of the nation-state and its linguistic hegemonization project and the resistances to linguistic unification and dominated cultures. Besides, thanks to the trajectory and background of Yásnaya Gil, we will be able to explore which perspectives and challenges the different linguistic spaces bring, such as translation, writing and the language itself.

This event is organized by the Reina Sofía Museum, under the framework of the Redes_Ling Project, coordinated by the MIRCo-UAM center (IP: Laura Villa), in collaboration with the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona. Tickets are free and may be acquired here

Do not miss it!
