The MIRCo Center invites you to engage in the II International Symposium of the Center of Discourse Studies (CDS), which will take place online, on May 19th, 20th and 21st 2026 in an online format.
This second symposium will have “discourses of power, resistance and reaction in the global era” as its main issue to be discussed. Each of its three days will address one specific question. The first day will deal with “discourses of far-right political groups and reactionary movements, with sub-topics including enemy construction, discursive victimization, and (digital) radicalization”; next day, the second one, activities will be organized under the topic “discourses of movements for social justice and equality, highlighting discursive strategies of resistance, rearticulation, and intersectionality”; and, finally, to conclude, the issues will revolve around “human rights as a discursive field in dispute, considering resignifications, structural exclusions, and emerging counter-narratives”.
The submissions to the symposium shall be sent aligned with one of the three different topics, and may be sent until January 12th 2026, either in English or Spanish.
