Next March 19th and 20th, the Research Group on Discourse and Social Protest, from the Center of Discourse Studies (CentreDR), will host its 4th International Meeting on Discourse and Social Protest. The event will be hosted online, from 5 to 7PM both days.
This meeting aims at digging deep on the relations between discourse and social protest: its meaning, the role of discourse in protests, their new forms… To do so, we will be hosted both days by Teun van Dijk, CentreDS Director and member of the MIRCo Scientific Advisory Committee. On the 19th, we will have Luisa M. Rojo (Head Professor in Linguistics and MIRCo-UAM director) and Manuela Romano (Professor in English Language and Linguistics at UAM, and MIRCo member) as guests. On the 20th, we will be joined by Xavi Giró (Professor in Journalism at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) and Gabriela Iturriza (Professor at Universitat de Girona and journalist).
The entrance is free for CentreDS members, while the general public should pay a 10€ fee, to sustain the centre’s activities. It is necessary to sign up before the meeting, in both cases, available here or in the CentreDS page at discoursestudies.org
Do not miss it!
