On Thursday, April 23rd, we will be hosting the free-of-charge workshop The Word is Movement and the Body is Text, aimed at UAM, students with either a migrant, first or second generation, or a racialized background. The Word is Movement and the Body is Text
Writing is movement. When we move, the thoughts and the spirit shake. The word is organic and the body, text.
Participants will dig deep, through movement, listening and empathy, on sensations, memories and images, in order to wake the words up, leading them to write creative poems or texts linked to their identity, their life experiences and their or their families’ migrant trajectories.
Thanks to poets Lilián Pallares and Charles Olsen, they will explore ways to transform their texts, find a collective poesy and different ways to communicate the own voice.
