The Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the Autonomous University has created a new Expert Diploma in Romani Studies in the Spanish Context. The first session will be held during the 2026–27 academic year (from October to May) in a synchronous online format, bringing together more than 20 experts in the field.
This diploma aims to shed light on the reality of the Romani people and highlight their contributions to society at large, as a way to shift the approach to this community away from perspectives based on social intervention. To promote this new program, an online information session was held on May 11. During the session, the faculty team was introduced, along with the curriculum and other related details.

This degree, unique in the Spanish university system, offers interdisciplinary training in Romani studies: covering the history of this community, the political and social dimensions of their struggles, the Caló language, and more.
Information on enrollment, deadlines, and other details is available on the UAM Center for Continuing Education website. Don’t hesitate to learn more about this innovative program. See you in class!
