You can now listen to the audio recordings from the “Spoken Word” recital held on May 14!

On May 14th, at 12:30 PM, an end-of-year celebration featuring a spoken-word poetry session (slam poetry, performance, expanded poetry, among others) took place at the Faculty of Philosophy and Languages (outdoors, on the Juanjo terrace). The event was organized by the MIRCo-UAM Center for Research on Multilingualism, Discourse, and Communication, thanks to the  support from the UAM Cultural Activities Transfer Office, as well as collaboration from the Migrant Voices project.

The event featured some of the finest representatives of SPOKEN WORD, including poets from Spain and other nationalities residing in Spain. Each performer had 10 minutes to recite, and the audience had the opportunity to participate by reading or reciting their own poems. It was a memorable event not only because of the large turnout but also because it demonstrated the commitment of the UAM and its faculty to organizing alternative cultural events that can modernize, adapt to new circumstances, and, at the same time, capture the attention of Humanities students with language and literature more in line with their personal and social motivations.

Below, we present the artists who joined us that day, along with audio recordings of their recitals. We’re also sharing the pieces the audience read to accompany the guests. Thank you very much to everyone!
