The I International Forum on Linguistic Inequality: Languages, Discourse, and Society took place last July 7th and 8th at the National University of San Martín (UNSAM) in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This forum is part of the Redes_Ling Project (Resisting Linguistic Inequality, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Grant Agreement No. 101131469) and was organized in collaboration with the Center for the Study of Language in Society (CELES), affiliated with UNSAM’s School of Humanities. Also participating as organizers were the Chaco Indigenous Women’s Council (CONAMICH) and the Wichi Lhomet association from the northern Chaco.
Over the course of these two days, numerous researchers discussed social divides from a linguistic and discursive perspective: how to resist them, what forms they take, and what efforts have been made to combat them… through activities such as presentations, documentaries, workshops, and debates.
