We at the MIRCo-UAM Center would like to congratulate our colleague Virginia Unamuno, who recently received the IPrA Social Impact Award, awarded by the International Pragmatics Association (IPrA).
This award recognizes individuals who have applied pragmatics-based methods in non-academic settings and communities to highlight patterns of communication and work toward greater social justice.
Our colleague Virginia has worked on several occasions with indigenous communities in the Chaco, supporting teachers, translators, and indigenous leaders in the production of linguistic knowledge, educational policy, and language revitalization.
Congratulations, Virginia!
