The MIRCo-UAM Center encourages you to participate in the Symposium “Linguistic Anthropology and Inequality: Dialogues on Language, Culture, and Power”

As part of the XVIII International Congress of Anthropology – ASAEE, to be held September 1st–3rd, 2027, in Alicante, the symposium “Linguistic Anthropology and Inequality: Dialogues on Language, Culture, and Power” will take place.

This symposium, coordinated by our director, Luisa M. Rojo, and by Jaime Altuna (UPV-EHU), builds on the insights from previous symposia (held in 2023 and 2025) and will delve deeper into a situated and critical analysis of the processes of cultural diversity and social inequality.

We at the MIRCo Center encourage you to participate in this symposium! Papers are accepted on a wide range of topics, such as minority languages and language policy, linguistic diversity, the relationship between language and social categories, and more. For information on formatting and topic requirements, we recommend visiting the symposium’s website here.

You can find more information on the congress website, as well as at this link. Don’t miss this opportunity to participate!
