CELES (Centro de Estudios del Lenguaje en Sociedad) - Universidad Nacional de San Martín

The Center for the Study of Language in Society brings together a group of professors, researchers, and scholars focused on the use of language in contemporary society. In a context in which communication plays an increasingly crucial role in the development of communities, and in which language studies offer new theoretical and methodological perspectives for understanding society, this Center seeks to establish itself as a national and international benchmark in these areas of practice.

The Center of Excellence «Multilingualism and Language Policy» is based in the Faculty of Philosophy, which consists of 13 departments offering undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the Humanities. Among these departments are the departments of foreign languages ​​and philologies which cooperate with each other, as well as with the department of (Greek) philology, with the department of Turkish studies and modern Asian studies of the School of Economics and Political Sciences, and with several academic units from other Greek and foreign universities for many years.

GESC. Grupo de Estudios de Sociolingüística Crítica.

The Critical Sociolinguistics Study Group (GESC), part of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities at the University of Chile, seeks to create a space for knowledge production around the intersection of issues of language and society (economy, politics, power, identity, education, etc.), addressing them from a critical perspective, that is, taking into account a contextualization of these issues in power dynamics, both within the framework of society in general and of the disciplines and specialists that address them.

Grupo “Estructuras comunicativas e interacciones en los distintos niveles de la comunicación” Universidad Complutense de Madrid

This group analyzes communicative phenomena, processes, and interactions at different levels: from the intrapersonal, which includes cognitive and informational analysis, to the interpersonal, which analyzes the social world of networked relationships, with all its dynamic aspects, to the mass level, mediated by technologies and systems, and characterized by cultural and political aspects of all kinds. Its research trajectory is multi-focused and multi-methodological, and we carry out both public and funded projects with companies.

Lab for the Ethnographic Study of Language University of the Aegean

At the Department of Social Anthropology and History of the University of the Aegean, we serve a concept that focuses on the study of the social, historical and cultural aspects of human action. The Department supports multifaceted and interdisciplinary approaches that serve a better understanding of social and cultural phenomena. Within this framework, the teaching, educational and research activities of the Department are organized, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

We explore language and ethnicity, bilingualism, language ideologies, linguistic landscapes, language policy and planning, language and the political economy, social movements and language activism, language and place, multilingual literacies, language and tourism and issues pertaining to regional minority languages, migrant languages and ‘new speakers’ of these languages.

With enthusiasm alive to the successful outcome of our First Meeting on Ethnomusicology—organized by the Intercultural University of Chiapas under the auspices of Dr. Andrés Fábregas Puig, then rector of that institution—at the closing ceremony, some of the participants agreed to create a collaborative network to continue the reflection on the socioeconomic and cultural dynamics related to the production, reproduction, and reception of music, and, in general, to ensure that the magnificent dialogue that had taken place between researchers and musicians would not be considered a one-off.

Research Centre for Language Teaching, Testing & Assessment National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

The main scope of the Research Centre for Language, Teaching, Testing and Assessment (RCeL) is to carry out research in language teaching, testing and assessment, to develop teaching and testing materials, to produce relevant publications and το develop data bases which facilitate linguistic research. It supports research and education projects of the Greek Ministry of Education and of educational and research institutions in Greece and abroad. With highly qualified staff, since 2004 the Centre has been developing into a reputable organization.
