The Working Group on Political Discourse and Action brings together an interdisciplinary team of discourse specialists that has been meeting periodically since 2022. Its members include Manuel Alcántara, Eva Alardo, Laura Camargo, Laura Filardo, Jorge Gaupp, Héctor Grad, Luisa Martín Rojo, Paula Requijo, Victor Sampedro, and Teun van Dijk. The group's objective is to understand the discursive changes taking place, identify the elements that define far-right discourse, and explain its dissemination and take root. It also seeks to unravel the keys to the current political situation, from the Community of Madrid to Europe and other continents, and predict its future evolution. Beyond this understanding, the group works with political parties, communication advisors, and citizens concerned about the production, dissemination, and persuasive power of these discourses. This work is part of MIRCo's intervention activities, which seek to transform institutions and their discourses and incorporate citizens into research and knowledge transfer activities.
